Happy Holidays 2008!

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Kool Kwanza.  Happy holidays!

And for your enjoyment, there is a house JUST like this in my parent’s neighborhood. Pretty impressive!

Follow-up (11:00am):

It has been snowing like a <insert word of choice> here.  In fact, snow was so bad this morning that we lost power for almost an hour, and now they’ve closed the only road into our subdivision because of high winds and huge snow drifts.

My Birthday!

May 16th, 2008 Jessica Posted in Holidays/Events No Comments »

So I’ve finally sat down to write about my wonderful birthday!! It was awesome! I started out with a delicious breakfast of waffles. Unfortunately, i still had to go to work, but my boss remembered my birthday! I got to go out to lunch AND dinner with my wonderful husband. We went to dinner at a hibachi style Japanese place. It was cool to watch our cook do fancy moves with his utensils. I also got to open some wonderful presents from my husband! Thanks to everyone who sent me cards and text messages and called!

May 13th - Jessica’s 23rd birthday

May 13th, 2008 Tanner Posted in Holidays/Events No Comments »

Ah, birthdays. I’m starting to appreciate the observation that birthdays seem so far apart as kids, yet so close together as an adult. It really does work that way!

Today Jess celebrated her 23rd birthday. She woke up to a tasty breakfast of fresh chocolate chip waffles, then (grudgingly :) ) headed off to a morning of work. We went out to lunch together (Taco Bell - how glamorous!) then enjoyed a quiet evening of American Idol before heading to Tepanyaki’s for dinner. After eating way too much - and enjoying every bite! - we’re back home for a nice night of reading and writing. Many thanks to everyone that sent cards and/or called! Maybe tomorrow I can convince Jess to post all the juicy details of her birthday celebration…
